The philosophy behind my design work
01.
Purpose oriented design
Great design gets at the root of a user problem and solves it in the most seamless way possible. Deloitte found that mission driven companies grow 3x faster on average than their competitors. I approach my design work in the same way – I define a clear purpose and use that as a north star for all decisions.
02.
Finding inspiration
I often find myself looking at the “real world” for inspiration. I believe that most of the problems we encounter in the digital world have already been solved in a different industry or generation.
03.
Prototyping
The interaction between different components of the user experience is what sets a great user experience apart from the rest. Prototyping forces me to look at my work in a different angle and expand my thinking beyond the screen. I try to build low-fidelity prototypes whenever I get a chance. It’s also a great way to share my thoughts with others and collect feedback!
04.
Testing & data
Design, test, iterate, repeat! I have had the opportunity to learn from some amazing UX Researchers and Product Analysts during my career. Thanks to them, I’ve developed a love for data and research. This is why I always ground my work in as much data as I can get my hands on.
